Beerman Hello, Is there a good recommendation for an PDF reader? The "PDF Viewer" app is quite good, but unfortunately you can not search in the document. Thx! :)
abcZ I was about to recommend a pdf viewer that I prefer, but then I realized that it also lacks search. FWIW: search feature has been on the drawing board for 6 years; https://github.com/GrapheneOS/PdfViewer/issues/4
matchboxbananasynergy GrapheneOS's PDF Viewer needs many improvements, and a lot is planned for it, but there aren't currently enough resources or enough time to get those done. It's a matter of when, not if. :)
mythodical MJ PDF Reader provides a basic text search interface, and Librera Reader provides a more traditional search interface along with many other features. Both apps are FOSS and under active development.
sugseg52 Librera Reader is a nice piece of software. However, please note that the author of Librera Reader seems to be affected by the Russian invasion into Ukraine. On the app's Github page the author says that the development is frozen currently.
ReadOnlyUser I used Librera Reader for a while. It contains tons of features. For my daily usage it felt kind of overloaded. As per the Exodus page, it may contain trackers: https://reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/reports/com.foobnix.pro.pdf.reader/latest Currently I just use the GOS PDF reader. I would be interested in another viewer with some more features, open source and no trackers. Any proposals are appreciated!
mythodical ReadOnlyUser I don't think you'll find another FOSS document reader with anywhere near the same features. For what it's worth, Librera doesn't need network permission. That said, I too find it heavy for use as a default viewer. I've been happy with MJ PDF as my default, as well as Simple File Manager's built-in reader.
Beerman Volen Thank you, also makes a good impression. Unfortunately it seems not be possible to copy any text from the PDF file, with this App.
pdagenius While am certain Microsoft apps are not everyone's cup of tea on this forum, the Onedrive pdf viewer has some good functionality - such as highlighting, copying and annotation of text.
