Pixel Tablet: undocking tablet results in awful noise

Hi everyone,

when undocking the tablet from the dock, the tablet makes this unpleasent sound. Like a scratching alarm ringtone.
Is this normal? Can this sound be changed? I only found the option to mute this sound.

Emanresu I've seen other people complain about the noise before and there's even an open issue for it in the GrapheneOS issue tracker so I think your issue is the same as what others are experiencing. I don't know anything else or how to change it.

In one of his YouTube videos, Side Of Burritos mentions that some of the dock's functionality depends on Play Services running as a privileged system app. Since GOS sandboxes Play Services, it cannot provide full dock functionality. I don't know whether that's a factor in the noise problem, but it might be.

There's an option in the settings for a docking sound. Might be worth toggling it off to see if it gets rid of the noise.

I have the tablet, dock, and no Play Services running. No such noise here.
