Hello everyone,
Just installed GrapheneOS on my Pixel 8. Loving it so far (thank you so much for your work), except for this particular issue.
I've been trying to pair my bluetooth earbuds (Redmi Buds 5 Pro) without any kind of success. When I try pairing them through Play Services' fast pair, it gives a generic connection error and the earbuds' charging case keeps fast-blinking as if nothing was detected. When I try pairing through the general bluetooth dialog, the pairing starts ("pairing in progress" is displayed), the charging case stops blinking as if pairing was succesful, but the phone keeps displaying "pairing in progress" and a popup throws an error related to an incorrect passkey.
They pair completely fine on the first try on other phones and devices. Other bluetooth devices (e.g., speaker) have also paired with the Pixel 8 completely fine on the first try.
Here's what I've tried:
- Looked for a solution on the forums [1], [2], [3]. None of the described attempts at solving this helped.
- Updating to the latest stable release. I'm currently running build 2025080400, but the problem was already present on the previous build, which was my first install.
- Updating the earbuds to the latest firmware. A newer firmware was available and installed, but this did not solve the problem.
- Changing settings related to bluetooth in developer options. Setting AVRCP version to 1.6 and MAP version to 1.4 did not help. Disabling hardware offload for bluetooth LE audio and for A2DP also did not help.
It's quite the problem, since as you can imagine I use these earbuds all the time and need them for work. Any clue on what could be done to solve this?
