I just got a 7pro [mostly because of better camera] and am having trouble finding a solution for transferring my data such as SMS, Call Logs, Apps [about 100 of them].

Seedvault backup fails every time [exFat formatted USB C stick on computer], even tried local backup, also failed - have not tried Nexcloud.

Tried Smart Switch from Samsung, didn't even connect [tried wifi and cable]. Before I spend 3 hours installing apps, loading email accounts, setting up authenticators et cet.

Please, is there a solution I am missing?

You can try backing up to Nextcloud. I seem to remember reading that it's one of the only options available when restoring? Unsure since I've never used Seedvault to restore anything.

Just know that Seedvault isn't a reliable backup solution. GrapheneOS devs have plans to replace it in the future.

Also note that Seedvault uses a depreciated and a very close to completely discontinued backup API, so many apps won't be backed up at all. I know it's a pain to manually back up and manually set everything up again, but be prepared to because I've read on here and the Matrix chat room that some have had issues restoring a backup.

      Thank you.
I ended up purchasing a utility to transfer all apps, contacts, sms, et cet. -most apps worked, some I had to un/re-install.

juan Could you name the utility? Because that could be helpful for others in the future. -:)

Roland I use Sms Backup and Restore for sms. I've used it for years with great success. Create a backup on one phone then move the files over to the new phone and restore. It will also do scheduled backups.

No suggestions for the other stuff though. Sorry.

Sure thing. It was Coolmuster (.com). It is a paid utility though. I used the Android Assistant. Should probably have bought the mobile transfer utility, but Prichard assistant and didn't want to pay more.

Did backup of old phone, restored into new phone.

I also used sms backup and it's good. Signal has its own backup and restore process I used. Contacts I sync with my email (mailbox). Personally, I prefer to not just restore apps via a third party.
