aussieheathen I'm using a pixel 6a and can't locate seed vault anywhere in the settings to install the app. Can someone help please?
Probably9857 aussieheathen Settings>System>Backup It is Seedvault under the hood, but it's not labelled that way in the ui.
aussieheathen Probably9857 So that whole option is seed vault? Bugger, okay so whats the best cloud option to store the backup? I can see DAVx but that only looks like file backup not the whole phone. Storing on my device seems dumb. The flash drive option doesn't appear to work and i don't know where to start with WebDAV.
Probably9857 aussieheathen So that whole option is seed vault? Yes aussieheathen whats the best cloud option to store the backup? Cloud backups don't seem to work very well (or at all?) The usual advice is to do the backup locally on your device, then copy it somewhere else via USB.
aussieheathen Probably9857 Ah okay. :) How do you pull the save file out of backups and onto a USB? Also thank you for this.
Probably9857 aussieheathen Not sure. I don't use seedvault myself. I'd start by connecting a USB cable from my phone to my PC and see what happens.
MEGAbyter aussieheathen Use the Files app that comes with GrapheneOS. You need to hit the 3 dot menu button in the top right and hit "Show hidden files". The seedvault folder is in the main directory and is clearly labeled. Open it, find your backup folder and long press on it and hit "move to" (or copy to) and then select your USB drive from the menu on the left.
MEGAbyter Actually I'm not certain if you can just transfer the backup file itself or if it needs to be in the main seedvault folder in order to be recognized when doing the restore. Maybe someone more informed can chime in. In the meantime, I'd just copy the whole seedvault folder over to be safe. It's labeled ".SeedVaultAndroidBackup"
aussieheathen Guys, thank you so much for that, i've been pulling my hair out over being unable to backup. I'll give it a crack when i get back home tonight. :)
