Accessing btsnoop_hci.log

Hi,
I am trying to follow these instructions to provide a bt_snoop log to Gadgetbridge.
I enabled developer options, Bluetooth HCI snoop log, and usb debugging. However, adb root won't work, as I get the following error message: adbd cannot run as root in production builds.
So I tried adb unroot, but when I enter adb pull /data/misc/bluetooth/logs/btsnoop_hci.log btsnoop.log, I see the following error message: adb: error: failed to stat remote object '/data/misc/bluetooth/logs/btsnoop_hci.log': Permission denied.
Any ideas what I can do?

No. GrapheneOS isn't rooted. Rooting your device is a bad idea. It's a huge security risk.

Is the output from adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager not enough?

Hey if you still havent found the solution you can run adb bugreport report and it will generate a report that contains this log file at FS/data/log/bt/btsnoop_hci.log

other8026 Thanks for the feedback; the goal is to provide the btsnoop to Gadgetbridge to help them support a device I have that they currently do not support. I would love to have it supported and the developers that this would be useful.

Turns out adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager does not contain the bluetooth packets and is therefore not sufficient.

Grodu Though this would be quite disruptive, you could build GrapheneOS (a userdebug build), wipe your device and flash the userdebug build, and, I expect, capture the data that way.

Or maybe pick up a used 6a on eBay to use as a development device (until support ends, which is somewhat soon).
