Trouble getting notifications working

Hello,
I'm new to GrapheneOS. I got my phone (Google Pixel 8 pro) installed with it yesterday and got a couple work related apps set up on it to get my basic needed functionality.

At this point, I'm having issues getting notifications to work for certain apps. The primary one I'm dealing with is PagerDuty, which is you're unfamiliar is this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pagerduty.android&hl=en_US&pli=1

I have notifications enabled in the application settings and was seeing Google Play services notification errors popping up, so I enabled notifications for that as well. Still no luck.

Has anyone had success getting this app to perform properly on their GrapheneOS phone?

google play services needs to have unrestricted battery under "App battery usage"

I don't know this app but standard FCM (Google) notifications should work regardless.

Can you check you have the battery exemption added for Google Play Services:

Settings → Apps → Sandboxed Google Play → Play Services App Info → App Battery Usage → Allow Background Usage: Unrestricted

Thanks for the prompt replies! It was set to optimized, I set to unrestricted and will update as soon as another alert comes in as to whether that fixed it.

Unfortunately that alone wasn't the fix. Does the Google Play Services app need to have "Display over other apps" allowed? And just to note, I installed good play through the GrapheneOS app store but in the apps list it doesn't say "Sandboxed Google Play" as suggested.

Quick update, I've been able to get notifications working with your help. I changed the PagerDuty app battery usage to unrestricted and redid the entirety of the notifications within the app.
