Trouble connecting to Proton VPN

nandohyphen1 I guess that's what it is then. I went through similar ongoing exoerience about a yeaar ago. BTW now I have switched all my electronic correspondence over to them I feel kind of uneasy when I see what is happening in regards to changes in Swiss legislation.

DeletedUser495 they did say they'd leave Switzerland if that legislation passed, it's up to you if you want to take their word for it and if you trust wherever they move to but just wanted to share.

nandohyphen1 I use version 5.12.25.0 and I have a paid subscription and have experienced three times that I was unable to connect in the last days. Turning it off and on again fixed it for me every time. Only had issues at start of connection. If I eventually got a connection it was stable all the way.

Maybe they have issues now that the UK has activated the age verification technology? I saw (online) that ProtonVPN was very high on the most popular downloaded apps.

I would recommend reading this article from the Proton blog, going through how they work when countries activate censorship. A really good read!

Panda-na I'm also on version 5.12.25.0. That was an interesting article. It really is strange that I can't connect. When I press on the connect button, it just says, protecting digital identity and it just does nothing else.

I ended up signing out and uninstalling the app. Then I reinstalled it and signed back in. That seems to have fixed it! :)

Next time maybe try Force Stop and then Clear Cache after an install (especially if the old version is running when you install). Also, sometimes it seems like the app tries to keep me on a slower server, so check the server list make sure you're connecting to one with plenty of headroom. Choosing another server might also help clear the connection error.

nandohyphen1 I had some issue where proton didn't connect within one specific profile. But after reboot it works fine again

The issue is back... First Proton VPN completely disappeared from my home screen and app drawer. Wasn't in settings under all apps either. Had to manually search for it. Then it disconnected and I couldn't use anything internet related on my phone. It wouldn't let me clear the storage or cache. I disabled it and it did nothing. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. But when I put it into a folder on my home screen and exited the folder, it stayed right on the screen like it was glued there overlapping other apps. I have it disabled now. What is going on???? Any ideas??? Or is this a question for Proton support? Thanks

I got it working again. I also emailed Proton support for help. Hopefully whatever this is stops happening, as its annoying to be in the middle of doing something and all of a sudden have no internet and not be able to get it back. :-/
