Fun fact, there are quite a lot of people in Sweden who express wishes that more websites will allow authentication with BankID (the digital ID solution here), instead of username and password, because they never remember their username nor password and complain loudly about this everytime, why websites aren't just using BankID so passwords would be a thing of the past.
So slippery slope argument here may feel kind of realistic.
But it hasn't happened despite that. It is still only websites that need strong ID verification that does it, like farmacies when ordering prescription medication, your bank when logging in, the municipality office when applying for benefits, and so on. Regular websites do not use it as replacement for regular user accounts. And like I said, BankID has been more or less mandatory here for 10 years, commonly used for like 20 years (I used BankID since before smartphones were a thing).
