Inter profile Sharing app not working

Since the update to 2025071900 Inter profile sharing app doesnt work anymore. I've tried resetting the sharing password across all of my profiles with no luck. Is anyone else experiencing this and do you know how to fix it? Thanks.

nandohyphen1 Sometimes updates can reset system settings, can you check whether the profiles you want to share files from are still allowed to keep running in the background? Maybe reinstall the app from scratch in both profiles and check whether it works without password/encryption enabled at all...

It works fine here (Pixel 8 Pro). No password is used in the app. I am on the same 2025071900 version.

patrickd oh! Is that it? Do the profiles need to be allowed to run in the background for inter profile sharing to work? I recently disabled background usage for my other profiles because they didn't need to run in the background(I just found it to be a waste of battery). Do I just need to re enable background usage?

nandohyphen1 Yes! While a file is being shared from a profile, the app basically serves the file from there while the app in another profile downloads it from that serving-app. So when you don't allow the profile to keep running in the background, the file-serving side of the app will be killed and no files are shared.

Regardless of which profile an app is running in, Android works hard to limit battery usage. If stopping a profile saves significant battery, something is probably wrong with the app.

de0u @nandohyphen1 The app is specifically designed to only keep running in the background while a file is being shared (Indicated by a notification). If nothing is being shared it volunteers to be sacrificed to the battery gods by Android at any time.
