Just an FYI, you mentioned the purchase of a pixel 9 or 9a. Both of these are fully supported by GOS, and running A16.

They have 7 years support from date of release.

Again, I don't speak for GOS, but those two phones have been confirmed to maintain GOS support for the duration they receive updates

Ah that’s really good to know. Fantastic. I appreciate all the help with this. Honestly with all the AI being crammed into both iOS and Android I am really hesitant about remaining with either of them for security and privacy reasons.
