Set up of SpamBlocker app

Hello everyone,

I'm testing this app https://github.com/aj3423/SpamBlocker and wonder if there is a special setup when running on GrapheneOS.
The app simply does not trigger when I get a spam call.

I'm not sure where to seek help, either here or over there, from the app developer.

I set it up as a Caller ID app in Settings > Apps > Defaults apps > Caller ID and spam app, which it wasn't after install.

Whether I use a specific line number to call, it just feels like the call does not filter through SpamBlocker.
Since it is not triggered, it can not filter and I get the call when I shouldn't.

Am I setting things up properly?
Do you have any feedback to share?

mister_jay You might want to try the app developer, who may be in a better position to interpret the app's log file.

Solved, adding self-help :)

Enabling the system permissions and/or setting the app as Caller ID app is not enough.
You have to enable it internally, globally AND for the calls as well.

The app should look like this. Enabled globally as depicted in the upper right corner AND enabled for calls, as shown with the green phone icon. If not previously granted, clicking phone the icon will show the Android permision request to set it up as Called ID app.

mister_jay Thanks for reporting back! This information may encourage other GrapheneOS users to give the app a try. You might suggest that the developer add setup instructions to the web site, perhaps by filing an issue. You might include your screenshot.
