grapheine I've been getting irritated when watching a video in full screen for it to be stopped and my screen shut off in 30 seconds. It didn't used to do this. What's changed?
userofgos grapheine I've been experiencing the same thing. Not sure if it was an upstream change to AOSP.
DeletedUser495 grapheine you mind saying a little detail like what app you use for watching your videos, that may be important as well as its battery settings and your screen timeout.
grapheine DeletedUser495 its happening in Vanadium, for sure. I haven't used New Pipe recently because it doesn't seem to ever work.
DeletedUser495 grapheine this may be your solution https://github.com/InfinityLoop1308/PipePipe If screen still keeps turning off, have a look at Settings > Display > Screen timeout and set it to higher value if it's too low.
fid03 grapheine its happening in Vanadium, for sure. I haven't used New Pipe recently because it doesn't seem to ever work. Turning the device off and on fixed it for me.
grapheine Actually that didn't resolve it. This is so frustrating. Using Vanadium, YouTube seems to work, but for example, on Reddit if I'm playing a video full screen the screen turns off after the timeout
fid03 grapheine Does it happen with the newest GrapheneOS release based on Android 16 QPR1 (the one with the new UI)? Specifically GrapheneOS 2025112100 and later.
fid03 Could you please list with which apps you are experiencing this issue, and with which apps you are not experiencing this issue? Several people have liked posts and other threads on a similar or identical issue, so if these people share more details on it it could help other people to reproduce it. Details that can help are: device model GrapheneOS version apps in which the issue does occur apps in which the issue does not occur does it reoccur after you have turned the device off and on again?
grapheine fid03 I just checked after upgrading and so far it seems to be working. I'm currently on 2025112101
grapheine I guess I was wrong, again. My screen time out is set to 30 seconds. In Vanadium, on Reddit watching a video in full screen, the screen turns off after 30 seconds 😖
grapheine OK what the hell. It happens sometimes and not always. Makes it difficult to troubleshoot. I tested in Firefox mobile and no turning off. Then I tried Vanadium, and it didn't turn off this time. I tried both Reddit and YouTube. I can't figure out why it happens sometimes and not others.
