I am sure Accrescent has good goals and the reason for it to have a selection of apps that seems arbitrary to outsiders is simply because it is still a proof of concept.
That doesnt change the point though, the opposite, it strengthens it. Aurorastore, Obtainium and F-Droid basic could be included in the GrapheneOS appstore, allowing a better root of trust, without the devs needing to vet for the apps in any way.
Yes they are not perfect but really good. Aurorastore uses certificate pinning and works very well. Obtainium is the app that most GrapheneOS users likely use. F-Droid Basic is the stripped down build targetting newer Androids.
They fit existing needs. Bundling them will allow users to safely bootstrap their systems without fearing to click on malicious links when first looking for them. They wouldnt even need to allow install-apps-permission for Vanadium!
