USB-C wired headphones disconnecting themselves

I have a pair of wired headphones that connect directly via USB-C that keep getting disconnected from the device every 10-30 min or so. To reconnect I must unplug them, unlock the device, and then plug them back in. I assume this is due to some security setting, but is there any way to solve this without weakening USB-C security?

Shouldn't be, but you can try changing the USB-C port setting to "on" in Settings > Privacy & security > Exploit protection > USB-C port. I don't think you need to restart after changing this setting, but you can try anyway. After that, see if your headphones disconnect often still.

That's a wide range of time. What's normally going on when it disconnects? Is the device locking? What is your USB-C port setting set to? If it's disconnecting due to what the setting is set to, you'll have to change it to something else. That's just how the USB-C port settings work.

Or maybe the connection is just loose. Maybe I should switch back to Bluetooth.

Can someone explain if Bluetooth keeps sending out signals (that could identify the device) even when connected to a pair of headphones?

I think it's a bad dongle.... I use a Marshall Headset with fiio Dongle. All works fine

ErnestThornhill It's set to charging only while locked. Now that I think about it, it's probably just that the usb dongle is loose. I thought maybe there's some security feature that turns off usb after a certain amount of time, but then it would of course be consistent.
