Incoming call screen not showing but accessible through it's notfication

As stated in the title. The ringtone plays but you can't pick up the call on lockscreen it does'nt even wake up when called. You have to unlock it and then tap the incoming call notification to get to the incoming call screen. It started a few days ago. My mom(her phone) stated it took 10 minutes to reboot and the warning text on the reboot was red. So I suspect it was an update and the problem appeared with it.

Additionally when you try waking up the screen through the on/off button it mutes the ringtone. That could be unrelated or even intended though.

rusticus1999 Pixel 7 user here having the same issue, which started right after the last update.

Powered the phone down, which didn't resolve the issue.

When the phone rings, usually the screen is completely dark, so a power button tap brings it active. Then, for me since I don't use fingerprint scans, I type in my 6 digit code, then swipe down and find the call notification, tap the arrow, which then offers me the answer and decline options for the call

I think Do Not Disturb mode doesn't show calls in full screen. Did you change any settings with the phone App? Maybe clearing the cache could help as well. I'm just guessing, for me everything works fine.
