Dear all,
I just installed an eSIM on a Pixel 7a from within GrapheneOS by activating the eSIM support toggle in the Network & internet settings, then following the usual procedure of installing the eSIM, then untoggling eSIM support. The eSIM is working as expected.
However, when the phone is booted, the message

is shown. The hash at the end of the message is identical to the verified boot key hash for the Pixel 7a published on grapheneos.org.
The message appeared first when the eSIM was installed and the phone rebooted for the first time. Such a message had not appeared previous to the installation of the eSIM.
I completely reinstalled GrapheneOS using the web installer (which does not delete the eSIM, and the eSIM is indeed still working), but the boot verification problem persists.
(1) Does someone know why exactly this occurs or what are possible reasons for this?
(2) What can I do in order to have everything set up properly with boot verification and eSIM working, so that I get warnings about real threats – assuming, of course, there is no real threat at the moment and this is merely a technical problem?
(3) Is there an "official" way to fix this?
(4) I can imagine vaguely that I should somehow sign the [OS with the eSIM] manually and add the relevant Android Verified Boot key. Is this in any way reasonable? How exactly would I do this? I have basically no experience with these things, but I hope I can learn.
Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated! – Many thanks in advance.
