Should I go back to stock OS for the 'faulty battery' compensation?

As you may already know, there's an issue in some Pixel models whose battery could start draining or swelling. I completed the official form to receive a compensation, now waiting for my case to be reviewed by Google.

It already stated that my email address was not associated to the phone (when it probably would if I were on Stock OS), so I'm worried if they can see that I have a different ROM and if so, whether it could be a problem or not. Did someone already applied to this compensation?

Crarar Google can't tell whether you're running GrapheneOS or the stock OS if all you provide is an e-mail address and an IMEI.

You didn't indicate which compensation you selected, but in the past people have reported that Google didn't reject warranty repairs just because a device they received was running GrapheneOS.

If you wish to provide more details (which compensation you selected, what information you provided) that might enable more-informed speculation.

Crarar whether it could be a problem or not.

It's generally not, my phone was upgraded for free while running GOS. They don't care. Repair services may wipe and flash stock on a pixel running GOS however.

de0u In my country the only option available was to take the money, so there would be no repairs. As you said, I only provided the IMEI and my google email address, and I was just over-thinking if they could claim I'm not eligible because of the modification of the stock ROM and blah blah blah, but I guess I'll be fine reading you guys.

At present, Google is running a recall/amelioration campaign for exactly the 6a: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/23082-google-will-soon-nerf-the-pixel-6as-battery

I believe recently they did so for the 4a.

Crarar True! But that one is for swelling, and is replacement rather than capacity reduction via software. So the 4a and the 6a are arguably in one class and the 7a is similar but different.

I guess I'll update my own post. More than two months later and after several emails (because initally Google rejected my petition), Google asked me to factory reset my Pixel because they detected it's not the original OS, so "they can't continue with my petition" until I do that and they check my phone while being on stockOS. To be honest, it's a pain in the ass that now I have to delete all my data and apps only to reinstall GrapheneOS some days later because Google wants it.
