aurocha Disallowing access to Contacts or enabling Contact Scopes seems not to affect access to contacts.
They're being shown anyway. On refresh, the names on the chats in WhatsApp or Molly should disappear and only the number would be shown, as the contacts access was revoked.
I'm not sure that's how it works.
Though I am not a WhatsApp user, I would not be surprised if any time WhatsApp can access your contacts it vacuums them all up for later use.
What happens if you do these steps?
- Deny contacts access to WhatsApp,
- Add a brand-new contact entry with a phone number you have never ever WhatsApp'd with,
- Have that phone number send you a WhatsApp message.
Does the new person show up as a name or a number?
