Factory Resetting a GrapheneOS phone?

Hi. Just wondering what happens if I factory reset a phone with GrapheneOS on it? I don't need to do a factory reset, but I'd like to know what it would do if I ever had to do one? Does GOS stay on the phone or is it reset to stock google Android?

Yes. Factory resetting is in fact a recommendation for users of pre-installed GrapheneOS phones.

nandohyphen1 Despite the name, what "factory reset" does is to wipe the user data partition. The system partition is unaffected, so GrapheneOS remains installed. Also, the firmware retains any upgrades that have occurred since the device left the factory.

de0u does it essentially behave the same as entering the duress pin? Wiping the weaver keys and all that? Or is there a difference?

All your user data, Downloaded apps & accounts will be removed from the phone.
It won't reset to stock android

Yes the weaver slots are wiped during a factory reset. One minor note is that eSIMs are not wiped during a factory reset process, but are wiped by a duress PIN/password wipe.

Byteang3l A " factory reset" not only wipes the storage keys but also reinitializes the user data partition so that the device boots into the setup wizard. The duress-PIN process just wipes the keys and powers the device off; when it next starts, it won't boot until a "factory reset" is done.
