No Internet on Secondary Profile When Main Uses NextDNS Private DNS

Hello,

I’m running GrapheneOS (build #2025062700) on a Pixel 6 phone and have two user profiles: a main profile and a secondary profile. On my main profile, I use NextDNS set as Private DNS and have full internet access via both Wi-Fi and mobile data. Mullvad VPN is installed and active on both profiles.

However, when I switch to the secondary profile, I cannot access the internet at all—neither through installed apps nor via Vanadium browser—regardless of whether I’m on Wi-Fi or mobile data. The connection simply doesn’t work.

Interestingly, if I change the Private DNS mode on the main profile from NextDNS to “automatic,” the secondary profile regains full internet access on both Wi-Fi and mobile data.

I’m experiencing this exact issue on both my Pixel phone and Pixel Tablet where for the past three years this configuration has worked fine for me.

Has anyone encountered this before or have suggestions on how to resolve it?

I found those with this search: site:discuss.grapheneos.org "private dns" profile. I mention that because sometimes it takes multiple hours for somebody to respond to a post, but search engines can sometimes pop up an answer in less than a second. As is unfortunately common, this forum's internal search function is rudimentary, so I find it's almost always better to use an external search.
