The person you were talking to from Cellcom obviously didn't know what they were talking about. You could take another run at Cellcom and see if you get a more reasonable or consistent answer on how/if they support Pixel phones in the nearr future.

just wanted to update that i asked them again and they said my phone supports 5g and everything is fine. maybe there has been misunderstanding about this, previously they said they dont support it but now it fine. thanks for all the help.

Cellcom and all other Israeli mobile providers will shut down 3G and 2G networks in 1.1.2026, not move to only 5G.
You should make sure Cellcom has support for VoLTE on Pixel phones (many providers in Israel don't) otherwise you won't be able to make calls after the shut down.
I work for a mobile provider, you'd be surprised how often tech support agents lie or make stuff up due to lack of knowledge, it's better to verify by checking for VoLTE toggles in the settings and testing if 5G actually works when in range of 5G antennas (there are 2 maps (link) I'm aware of that are published by the Israeli government that show the locations of all antennas and their supported networks, for all Israeli providers).

i kind of worried now i really dont want to buy another phone and to stay on graphneos.
is there any solution? should i find a provider that support it? or ask cellcom about it?
maybe i didnt know where to find those toggles, where are they supposed to be? in sim settings?
i guess i could buy a router i take everywhere and use that for calls with signal and wi fi( i heard some people do that not sure how that would work to be honest).

Then it is most likely not supported, though they might need to do something on their end to make it work for you (with the shut down happening soon, I find this unlikely).
The VoLTE toggle should be in the SIM settings, same place you found the option for 4G and 5G only.

VoWiFi probably won't work either if there is no support for VoLTE.

Golan and Cellcom are actually the same company (Cellcom bought Golan a few years ago); I'd be very surprised if they support Pixel phones as they claim.
Partner supports Pixels, but last I checked only Pixel 9 and up, and I think Pelephone has more broad support for Pixel phones. Not sure about HOT Mobile, I wouldn't recommend them in any case for many reasons though.
It is highly likely any smaller provider in Israel won't have support for Pixel phones at all.

i think i going to ask partner next, depends on their answer i will either buy pixel 10 and wait for grapheneos there if it supports it well(or pixel 9) and partner also support it well(or pixel 9).

VoLTE is Voice over LTE, it allows calls to be made on an LTE network (for this purpose you can consider 4G and LTE to mean the same thing).
It is true that in some countries performing calls without VoLTE is already problematic (if it works at all), but this would also be an issue in Israel soon.

mrket i asked partner and they said everything would be fine because my phone supports 5g, i asked them about the missing settings of volte and he said that it should not be an issue.
i think at this point i will just wait and see what happens, if my phone calls stop working i would think about switching to partner or buying pixel 10 or 9 or whatever. maybe some things would even change until then but i doubt it for now i will see what happens in 1.1.26, thanks for the help.

dsffd3124 If they support 5G for Pixels it is very likely they support VoLTE too.
Not sure why it is so hard for them to give you a straight answer.

mrket i updated to android 16, it came out now for graphneos in stable and it works.
i see the volte option and wifi calling too.( i also see my exact number that i didnt see before)
and lte only mode works too.
the only other change i seen is the search bar in settings and maybe more changes. and security improvements.
i kind of happy.

dsffd3124 I had a chance to test a SIM from Partner on my Pixel 7a today, I can confirm VoLTE works.
