We’ve been using and recommending GrapheneOS since 2021.
We run a small phone shop where we repair and sell phones. Over the years, we’ve helped a good number of people switch to GrapheneOS—especially those who care about privacy but aren't too tech-savvy.
Most customers ask us to install it for them. We charge $100 for a full setup:
- Installing GrapheneOS
- Creating two user profiles (work + personal)
- Walking them through how the OS works
We think it’s a fair price considering the time and guidance we offer—and more importantly, it helps spread awareness about privacy and GrapheneOS.
After the recent “Android 16 porting” challenges GrapheneOS is facing, we’ve decided to donate 10% of every install we do to support the project.
It’s not a huge amount, but it’s honest—and we hope it makes a difference.
Starting July 1st, we’ll publicly post every GrapheneOS install we do (on this thread and on Twitter/X), and at the end of each month, we’ll send 10% of those sales to the GrapheneOS ETH donation wallet.
Transparency and accountability are key here.
There are a lot of other shops and online sellers like us making money thanks to GrapheneOS. If that’s you, we hope you’ll consider giving back too.
We’re also going to start encouraging users to donate directly. GrapheneOS is a nonprofit and needs community support to keep going.
This isn’t about promoting our shop (that’s why we made a separate account for this). It’s just our way of contributing—and maybe inspiring others to do the same.
Posting this here and on Twitter/X. Hopefully some of the privacy-focused folks will join the cause.
