monozygote That's true but I'm not sure what you want ppl to do with it. [...] Everyone can clam infinite such things and apply that quote - so what do you want people to do, keep looking for (the proverbial) unicorns?
I think I recalled that quote and posted it mainly as an appeal to raise awareness when we argue. And as a very small contribution to scrutinise our logic and allegations in this thread - particularly in regard of our inherent biological deficits.
For instance, a significant part of this thread appears to be based on something what I currently assume to be evidence for certain stated actions of swedish law enforcement officials. Yet another part of this thread is based on absence of such evidence, absence of exact knowledge etc. For instance, inferring that a missing written statement of a password handed over was evidence that access was achieved without the password.
We fill the gaps with our assumptions. That's a very human thing and possible necessary to act in unclear, potentially dangerous environments. On the same hand, we should keep in mind that we do so, with each of our own biases.
monozygote There's merit in theorising and assumptions, but science is driven by evidence (preferably empirical) or a search for it. It doesn't depend on your biases, what you think/thought, whether you "genuinely, 100%" saw aliens, etc etc.
[More Offtopic, but hopefully helps to explain my view and prior message:]
I fully support the scientific method and very much believe in robust evidence, falsification etc. I love science. (As well as unicorns.) I also acknowledge that all insight we achieve in our human mind is completely mediated by incompletely understood, bio-neuronal networks.
The result is what I consider a strong but plausible hypothesis: That maybe reality can exist independently from our biological nature, but my own reasoning (and probably others' as well) will always have to deal with the strange conglomerate of emotions, thoughts and biases. And it will take effort to do so and still derive something useful on that basis.
