Instagram on Pixel 7 keeps crashing when I upload an image. It either crashes or it redirects to the Story page or just exits and nothing happens. Ive been installling/uninstalling, clearing cache/storage even installed a fresh Graphene OS. All google dependencies are installed through the Graphene "Apps". I have tried installing IG though google play store and also through Aurora Store. Any idea?

you are amazing. ive been struggling for three days. this worked. tnx

This worked for me as well.

Strangely enough, posting a video wasn't broken, only posting a picture.

sjors It seems that Instagram currently has a memory corruption bug that's only triggered when taking specific actions within the app.

The toggle disabled hardened_malloc so that the app doesn't crash when the memory corruption bug is installed.

Ideally, Instagram should fix their memory corruption bug and the toggle should no longer be needed.

matchboxbananasynergy sadly it seems that closed source application developers (or at least their bosses) are not terribly motivated to fix bugs that don't impact stock android. Or maybe they are, but any bug report won't make it past the first line of support.
