NFC not recognizing payment app in Private space

Hi all, just wanted to know if this is expected. I created a private space and installed curve app for nfc payment. However I don't know how to add it to the wallet app or to NFC contactless payment.

I had it in a different profile (not a private space) and could add it to the wallet and use it for NFC payments just fine.

I uninstalled it, went to another profile, installed it in private space there (with play services etc), but now can't see how to add it as the default wallet.

Is it not expected for the payment methods (curve app here) added to the private space to be available for NFC payments? Otherwise can some please lemme know how to get this to work?

Wondering if anyone had a chance to test this out with Android 16 and if it works (or if you know that payment apps can never work from private-space for some reason).

I use my bank app for NFC payments in private space without issue, ive been doing that ever since private space was added to gos

privy2naught Ah cheers, that's at-least good news that it's supposed to work.

Could you detail the steps? Just want to see if there's anything extra I needed to do or toggle on etc.

For me, I set up curve (app) and everything's fine. For the final step it prompts me to add/register itself as the default wallet. When in a profile, it pops up the NFC default wallet picker, I pick the now listed curve-app and that's it. In the private space, it keeps spinning and nothing happens. I go to the NFC wallets view (via setting in the parent profile) and can't see the curve app there at all (just shows None).

HomerJay Did you try it with Android 16 (alpha/beta channel) by any chance? Just in-case this was a shortcoming of Android 15 (or if @GrapheneOS knows anything about it, if this is something related to the OS/private space and not the app(s))

@"monozygote" I just tried stabile. Rollback from 16 beta to 15 stable ist probably difficult.

Just for completeness sake, I've now tried it with A16 (since it's hit stable now). Unfortunately it still doesn't work.

Apps normally give a pop up to ask you if they should add themselves as default wallet.

In normal profiles you accept this and the NFC setting opens showing your new app and allows you to choose the default app. In private space, the apps seem to be unable to trigger this NFC setting. If you just go to the settings by yourself, you won't notice anything about the new app among the options.
