Pixel 7a here, same problem with increased battery consumption.
Furthermore, some issues with bluetooth. It is very unstable when connected to my car for music or phone calls. Car is rather old (9yeras) , thus older bluetooth codec in use (had this issue before with Poco F1 and LineageOS but was fixed quickly), so seems to be downward compatibility or codec negotiation/handshake. Maybe I could try and error it out with the developer options enabled and play a bit with bluetooth settings like AVRCP or MAP - but this is not how it should be 🙄
Last but not least I am facing overheat alarms when using my phone outside in summer environment. Especially when using google maps - phone switches immediatelly dark theme thus beeing nearly unreadable outside even with highest display brightness.
For me, it may linked to the two things mentioned in update 20250619:
Pixels: backport Android 16 Wi-Fi firmware, Bluetooth firmware and TPU firmware
Pixels: backport Android 16 Samsung Radio Interface Layer (RIL) code
and from 2025061300
update SoC and cellular radio firmware to the Android 16 releases to ship the security patches prior to our Android 16 port
Overall, currently my 7a is not a reliable daily driver anymore. Is there a chance to do a downgrade?
