Sigismund I admit that I don't understand FRT very well. However, if masking your appearance was enough to avoid being surveilled and tracked, bank robbers would never get caught. There's also the likely possibility that footage is stored for years anyway so it doesn't really matter that FRT isn't accurate enough now
The reason I made that claim was because of several articles regarding YITU, a company that specialises in facial recognition technologies. It's said to be quite accurate and obviously governments will avoid sharing things like this publicly
