sunyo0 You can disable WiFi and activate airplane mode to cut off all activity to the network and cell towers, but depending on your use case, I'd consider leaving it at home unless absolutely necessary, as @Sigismund suggests.

Also, I'm not sure a secondary profile for this kind of scenario is useful, if the device is seized, it's very easy to see that it's not the main profile without unlocking the device

As always in such cases it depends. Do you need to carry your phone with you? Will you rely on sms/regular calls? How will you connect to internet? Will you have your regular phone# attached to the phone? There's too many variables to simply say yes/no. I'd leave the phone at home, unless I know I can't do anything without it.

Yea this makes the most sense thanks! I just felt with how secure graphene could be there was a chance it could be used in these situations.

I did read about an app that uses radio waves to send signals which can be used on the phone with all connections turned off!

Tracked in what way? Some cities have cameras everywhere so they'd know who was protesting anyway and where they were and where they will go any time of the day

DeletedUser313 And? Without facial recognition unless you already are on their "naughty" list it would not be much of an issue since you can mask your appearance to some extent. You can't do the same with say cell signal especially if your country forces phone# registration.

Sigismund I admit that I don't understand FRT very well. However, if masking your appearance was enough to avoid being surveilled and tracked, bank robbers would never get caught. There's also the likely possibility that footage is stored for years anyway so it doesn't really matter that FRT isn't accurate enough now

The reason I made that claim was because of several articles regarding YITU, a company that specialises in facial recognition technologies. It's said to be quite accurate and obviously governments will avoid sharing things like this publicly

I do not recommend to bring your personal grapheneOS pixel on protest. If I need to carry a phone then I will take with me a cheap Pixel 6a and set auto reboot to as long as the duration of the protest. Airplane mode on to avoid cell towers to register the sim number or device imei number

Blastoidea OP was probably referring to ultrasonic cross-device tracking. As far as I understand, it could technically be used by any untrustworthy app to communicate with other devices via speakers. Truly dystopian stuff.
