Hello everyone,
Earlier today, on my Pixel 6 phone, I opened the Tiktok app and at the same time pressed the volume down button, this made GrapheneOS crash/panic. After this, the device has been completely unable to get past the booting animation.
My question is, is there any hope for recovering from here, or do I have to bite the sour apple and accept that I must wipe all data on the phone?
A rough timeline after the crash:
- After booting again, the device was stuck on the Google logo for a few hours (I then shut it down by holding the power button for 50 seconds)
- When starting the phone again, it get to the GrapheneOS logo which is animated just fine, not frozen, after 10 minutes, the device restarted by itself automatically.
- During the next boot, I let it stay on the animated GrapheneOS logo for about 50 minutes before I turned it off by holding the power button for 35 seconds ish. When the phone was off, it turned on again by itself.
- This time, the Google logo was showing for about half a minute? and then it restarted.
- Next boot, I got to the GrapheneOS logo, where I manually rebooted after 17 ish minutes.
- When it booted, it got to the Google logo, then it rebooted, then it got to the Google logo, then rebooted, then I tried holding volume down, and I got to the Graphene logo.
- From now on, it is mostly that I get to the Graphene logo part when booting where it gets stuck forever.
Some other information:
- The bootloader is locked.
- I tried updating from 20250505 to 20250602 using the ADB update option in recovery mode, this worked successfully, however I am still unable to get past the GrapheneOS animated logo when booting.
If there are no options left for recovering my data, does anyone at least have an idea as to what might have went wrong?
Thanks in advance!
