Possible to put Vanadium's address bar on bottom?

Would it be possible to put the address bar on the bottom of the screen if the user chooses? Cromite and some flavors of Firefox on mobile give users that option. Makes it easier to access than having it on the top, as normal.

Launch Vanadium > chrome://flags/#android-bottom-toolbar > Enable > Restart Vanadium.
Launch Vanadium > ⁝ (Menu) > Settings > Address bar > Bottom

I don't think we are talking about the same issue here as OP.

Are you sure? Maybe you accidently pasted the wrong issue number link? Because it's clearly not related as stated

On Android, Chromium is testing an "Address Bar: Bottom" setting, currently accessible via a flag on all builds. It works well, for the most part - especially in more recent versions.

The issue's problem description adds this afterwards and is specific to:

... However, there's a noticeable problem: whenever Chromium's search engine is set to something other than Google, the address bar is always rendered at the top of the New Tab Page, regardless of the Bottom Address Bar setting.

brookie229 The blue button that appears is labeled as "Relaunch". Have you tried to actually restart the Vanadium browser? As in exiting or force stopping, then opening it again from the app drawer?

Maybe try setting chrome://flags/#android-bottom-toolbar to default, then instead of tapping the "Relaunch" blue button that appears, quit Vanadium properly or force stop it. Repeat the same process to re-enable the flag while making sure not to tap that relaunch blue button and restart/quit/force stop the Vanadium app.

I had it set as Google.

This is what I get, also:

The bar is at the bottom
When I enter an adress the bar is on top again.
Bar is on top in new tabs also.

Not very usefull in the current state.

I have set Duckduckduck. ;-)

Tried this just now and again, no luck. I can see that very briefly (1/2 second or so) the toolbar is at the bottom when starting a new browser window but then immediately reverts to the top again. It's a bug within Chromium (not ready for prime time at least for me on a 6a). Anyway, thanks for trying!

xxx this seems like the best option. You wouldn't want it below the keyboard. Maybe it's hard to move it just above the keyboard because of different keyboard app / options?
