Possible to put Vanadium's address bar on bottom?

brookie229 The blue button that appears is labeled as "Relaunch". Have you tried to actually restart the Vanadium browser? As in exiting or force stopping, then opening it again from the app drawer?

Maybe try setting chrome://flags/#android-bottom-toolbar to default, then instead of tapping the "Relaunch" blue button that appears, quit Vanadium properly or force stop it. Repeat the same process to re-enable the flag while making sure not to tap that relaunch blue button and restart/quit/force stop the Vanadium app.

Tried this just now and again, no luck. I can see that very briefly (1/2 second or so) the toolbar is at the bottom when starting a new browser window but then immediately reverts to the top again. It's a bug within Chromium (not ready for prime time at least for me on a 6a). Anyway, thanks for trying!

akc3n ot working on my P6a either. I've tried "enabled" and "enabled default to bottom".

The upstream issue described with non-default search engine only when opening a new tab page, making it appear to ignore the bottom address bar set flag, while working fine otherwise?

This is what I get, also:

The bar is at the bottom
When I enter an adress the bar is on top again.
Bar is on top in new tabs also.

Not very usefull in the current state.

I have set Duckduckduck. ;-)

p.s. nope - just tried the stock keyboard and still doesn't work.

brookie229 bottom bar worked for ages, it's just buggy. I haven't tried recently.

It works now with Vandium 140.

Yes - it is now working - received v140 last night and it's doing the job but differently than I thought it would. For me (6a) it opens on the bottom of the screen (as it should) but as soon as I type any letter, the dialog box shifts up to the top of the browser. This is ok since I can type anything in there without having to touch the dialog box. Hurrah!

I figured out another way to put the address bar on the bottom and it doesn't require restarting the app. Press and hold the address bar and select Move address bar to bottom. Thought I'd share in case someone wants an easy way to do it. ;)

It seems like this is a function that a lot of people (including me) wanted because it just gets easier to move the address bar from the top or bottom. Now you can go to settings in Vanadium and it's right there (with a message that says 'New!' if you haven't clicked on it yet). I've noticed many improvements to it including when typing something not in the address bar (say like this post I'm typing now), the address bar stays at the bottom, whereas before it would jump to the top (which I hated). So thanks to GrapheneOS for implementing this feature so nicely into Vanadium! ;) Really appreciate it!
