Testing apps I used on stock - Pokemon Go crashes after connecting Go Plus

I know the obvious answer is to simply not use an app like this one for the obvious privacy concerns.

But, it helps me keep fit, and encourages me to bike around more than I usually do.

This issue does not happen on stock.

It seems like it instantly crashes upon a connection. It connects through Bluetooth.

What I've unsuccessfully tried so far:

disabling secure app spawning
enabling specific permissions in the app to see if there was a conflict (none found)

I am not sure what else to check.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have... besides the obvious "don't use the app".

thrik Hello there! First of all, please keep in mind that GrapheneOS does not police what apps people use. GrapheneOS is for everyone, and everyone can use whichever apps they'd like.

Have you installed Sandboxed Google Play? This is most likely needed for the app to function.

Please follow these steps (including clicking "Sign in" on Google Play Store) and then re-install the app and try again:

matchboxbananasynergy Thank you for saying that about app policing, usually spaces dedicated to privacy online are the opposite, lol.

Before installing any other apps, I installed Sandboxed Google Play.

So, the issue is still happening, unfortunately.

This can be marked as solved - @Wonderfall confirmed that this will be fixed in the next update, and for now, one can enable the "Phone" permission for Google Play services as a workaround. I tested this and it's working.

(If I can mark this as solved myself, I do not see how, sorry.)
