You can see how an app was installed under Settings > Apps > All Apps > *app name* > App details.
I've read that apps can detect which "store" installed them, so the app can see basically the same thing you see in settings. If you see it was installed by Aurora, the app can see that.
I tried updating an app on my phone that originally installed via Google Play Store with Aurora. Before the update the app info said it was installed by Google Play. After the update, it said Aurora.
So, while we can't know what exactly caused your account to be blocked, it is possible that something in the app internally can be triggered by the app appearing to be installed by a source other than Google Play. To know for sure, though, I'd suggest you check with them.
