Damiansd Ive found the FOSS maps apps to have bad address searching. CoMaps is the first that lets me type an address in normal form of street number, street name, street, city, code. All others ask the other way and make it painful.
dangerous-orange becomeparmesan I tested Auto mode in Organic maps, and it doesn't seem to work according to Light/Dark themes. Maybe it's time based?
GrapheneOS argante GrapheneOS is the direct continuation of the open source project we started in 2014, not a fork. We continued using the same Git repositories. It was Copperhead who forked GrapheneOS, not the other way around. They kept the old name we were using, but the repositories, local build infrastructure, signing keys, etc. were ours. You can see this from the GitHub repositories we still have around. Take a look at https://github.com/GrapheneOS-Archive/legacy_bugtracker/issues or the fork network of some of the older repositories like platform_manifest with forks from 2015, etc.
TGOS I hope they implement the possibility to follow a track. Organic Maps failed to do this. So I can delete OSMAND~ asap https://github.com/organicmaps/organicmaps/issues/1360#issue-1010909805
TGOS vlad Just F-droid caring for the packaging is what I try to avoid and I prefer maps as lightweight as possible.
gwr I would stick with Organic Maps for now as this fork seems still small and only time will tell if it continues. After all it primarily stems from a disagreement of philosophy, not any concrete disagreement. The 2 projects have an Apache 2.0 license.
gonzalo am I wrong or neither comaps and organic cannot tell you in details the direction of the public transport you need to take to get a location? You set a route and you get the number of the subway or train but not which direction?
Eirikr70 gonzalo It depends on your actual location and whether they have implemented the APIs for the public transportation system in that location.
gonzalo Eirikr70 oh I see, well in germany it is like that, sad because it is pretty useless, thanks for the info
Eirikr70 gonzalo Try installing Öffi. You are lucky enough to have the best transportation system app !
whiskeywalrus Does anyone know if turning on the "Google fused location service" will actually route the requests via GOS servers?
