Battery drain - Apps Next Cloud, Stay focused, Signal

Hi guys,

since a week or so, I just have crazy battery drain at my Pixel 8. Yesterday I sent 5 photos to a friend on Signal and i could see how my battery decreased from 14 % to 0 % in a few seconds. When I look at the battery stats, I also see that nextcloud is using quite a lot battery (mostly around 10 - 30%).
And I also use an App called "Stay focused" since a few weeks, but couldn't notice any disadvantages until now.

Can you tell me, what I can do to improve my battery life?

That's definitely not normal.

PetroK nextcloud is using quite a lot battery (mostly around 10 - 30%).

I'd suggest checking your settings to see why. I used to use Nextcloud maybe 2+ years ago, but I don't recall it ever draining my device's battery.

Check battery stats in Settings. See if you can determine which apps are causing the most battery drain. Check settings for those apps to see if you can stop them from running too much in the background. If that doesn't help you can try clearing problem apps' storage (which can kind of "reset" them to the same state they were in when they were first installed), then set them up again. Maybe that'll help.

Sounds like your battery is damaged maybe. That shouldn't happen. If your phone really consumed that much energy that fast, it would get extremely hot, you would burn yourself if you touched it. But likely the battery is just damaged and needs to be replaced.

Are there any visible signs of battery damage, such as swelling, like your phone bulging or screen coming loose? I have heard these symptoms described in those contexts before (increased usage starting at a certain point, and sudden drops from ~ 20% to 0%).

ryrona The phone is quite new and works ok at the moment. There is no sign of visible battery damage or damage in general. It didnt drop, but it was quite hot, when the battery dropped that fast, the other day. I read, that this could be just a wrong calibration of the system. Means, that it shows 14% but in reality the battery is around 2 or 3%.

Since a few days i always close every app I opened and the battery life seems to improve a bit.

I will also switch from a profile to the main admin profile and erase the other profiles. I believe that using a secondary profile all the time is also battery draining. In a few days, i will start to use the phone with dual sim. If the battery life decreases again, i will try to solve the problem.
But if i don't succeed, i will switch to an iphone (which i really don't like). Much worse for privacy, but still better than stock android, in my opinion.

So, i deleted to App "Stay Focused" and the problem is still there.
Everytime i get under 20% battery it takes 10-15 mins until it goes around 17%, 18% and then it goes down incrisingly faster. The last 10% are down in 10 seconds and the phone switches off.

I will install stock Android in a few days and test, if the problem still occurs.
Don't know anything else to do.
