How do you guys pimp up your homescreen? Or do you just keep a black wallpaper to keep a maximum of privacy?

It makes no privacy difference if you load all black or a local image.

By using third-party launchers and personalized wallpapers. Wallpaper fingerprinting is beyond my understanding, and I don't want to think about the smallest detail.

I care almost exclusively about speed from time to open my phone to finishing whatever task I need done. I generally don't enjoy being on my phone, so I really don't want to waste the time

"Pimp" as in 'pimp my ride', slang for making something nice and flashy or otherwise 'cool'

Group everything into subfolders for easy access.
And keep everything black for minimal fingerprinting.

teezeh I disagree there is a lot that can be elicited from a home screen image, especially if its personal to the user, as many are.
Black makes it a clean slate, improving privacy...

I avoid using alternate launchers because I do not understand the security implications of having a third party application be so involved in the drawing of your home screen. Otherwise I try to keep everything important on one home screen, and everything else in the app drawer.

natoal It's possible, yes.
Retrieve the primary color values from the wallpaper to help accurately identify a device. I'm not certain if any company has implemented this method yet.

That reminds me how apps used to copy clipboard contents surreptitiously before an update caught them in the headlights. I still don't get how everyone just let it slide and no party got into trouble. Unless it truly was an accident

I keep the home screen the same as first install, and add the most used apps around the GOS apps. I then add a calendar widget to the top of the screen because I'm very forgetful. My wallpaper is standard GOS.

I don't install any apps that are design to replace to GOS system apps (like the keyboard), if there are better solutions to the system apps, I trust the GOS team to implement them accordingly.

I don't like the idea of trusting too many developers especially ones that may require high-level system access.

I actually went back to the black wallpaper because it looks the best with the app icons on it.
