Why does Vanadium connect to Google domains?

Sneaky google always attempts to inserts bits secretly into your device. I too noticed these dns queries. I will soon be able to block google as I have pretty much migrated everything off to alternatives

This dns with old 82 vanadium config, time to upgrade first...

I don't really understand browsers, is this embedded in Chromium or did you come across it while browsing websites which employed Google trackers?

jackFang Why aren't you updating Vanadium Config? Using new Vanadium versions with outdated Vanadium Config isn't really supported. It should get updated together automatically due to being grouped.

DeletedUser313 this query is sent when i launch vanadium first time without any tabs open. No Google play services installed. As discussed above it seems to be due to old config version

This is on me. I have auto updates disabled as my threat model doesn't require it, often when I travel abroad I fear that update might break something so I do it only when I can safely do it.

I did update just few hours ago and looks like google dns calls have disappeared which is great :)

TGOS Yeah sorry, I was sleeping. I thought fingerprinting+browser = do they mean some new fingerprinting mitigation in Vanadium I'm unaware of? Only later I realized you were just talking about the fingerprint sensor.
