Request for a battery charge limit in order to reduce ware

I am using GrapheneOS since August 2024 and I am very happy with it. But I am missing an App or a part of the OS, which will limit the battery charge to a user definable value e.g. 80% in order to enlarge life span and reduce ware of the battery.
Any Apps, which will do this, will require root, which of course would violate the safety precautions within GrapheneOS. Therefor such an App should be perhaps integral part of the OS.

What do you think about my proposal?

What about settings > battery > charging optimisation? This is what you seem to overlook...

It's working like a charm for me. Charging to 100% from time to time is intended.

I don't use this feature, but the battery sometimes needs recalibration for this to work again...so leave the cable plugged-in to 100% + the appearing shield icon in statusbar. After re-calibration it should work again and stop at 80% of charge.

I thought this "charge to 80% only" was a thing of the past. Also, if your phone is plugged in and at 100%, the battery is at rest and not discharging / stressing the battery by using its own power.
