  • Does Screen Cast work in Graphene OS (Pixel 6a)?

"Settings | Connected devices | Connection preferences | Cast" shows "No nearby devices were found."
My old phone works fine with the same equipment connected to the same WiFi.

Also, there is no Cast quick tile available.

Same issue here for me. I don't have enough knowledge in this area to answer regarding this question. Would also like to know if it's the same scenario on the Stock OS.

Yeah, forgot to mention, it works fine under Stock OS, too.

Just going on memory here, but I think cast requires Google Play + Google Play Services having access to "nearby devices".

That said, I haven't personally tried casting with my phone running GOS. Maybe you can try this out on a secondary profile to test if you'd like. I'm unsure if you can connect to compatible devices using the settings app, so maybe it's better to attempt a cast from the app you'd like to cast from.

Thanks for the suggestions. I granted Nearby Devices" permissions to GP services, Google Play and GSF but no difference. Not sure if this is Gapps-dependent or not.

By the way, casting from VLC for example work fine within GOS. and VLC is an open-source app independent of GSF.
I'm trying to understand what are the needed conditions for the main (OS) Cast to work.

Oh I see. I thought you meant you were trying to cast a specific app.

As I said earlier, I haven't actually tried casting before using GOS. I just tried and it didn't work. Couldn't even get VLC to work (couldn't find the option to cast a video, but found the setting for it). Hopefully another person on here has some suggestions or experience with this.

I recently switched to GOS and have the same issue: Google Play Store and Google Play Services both have access to network and nearby devices. Also, the cast quick tile is available for me. However, when searching for my Firestick, it says "No nearby devices where found". Has anyone else found a solution since december 22?
