Pebble Smartwatch is BACK

Just a wishful thinking here.

It would be great if PeppleOS team & GrapheneOS team work something together.
So we can have private Phone & private Smartwatch with incredible security.
But have some kind of eco system like ios & android synergy.

Just a thought. As working together as community would benefit both or all of us.

XioPoco Pebble smart watch doesn't meet the security standards of GOS, but it being an open source OS, alongside its resources like the android SDK, any application for the watch should work on GOS.

Do we know what the security practices are for the new watches? I assume some changes have been made since the original Pebble hardware.

You may be able to port hardened malloc however onto it

Ok I do understand,
On personal level, hope it supports the feature set from any app designed for Android.

It was a thought if software team get together synergy would be better.
As i am all for SECURE open source eco-system booming in gadget space

Hi - I used to be able to download pebble apps and watchfaces here (most recently only about 6 weeks ago):

And then load them onto my Pebble watch via Gadgetbridge. This all on a Pixel 8a with GrapheneOS.

I now can't download from this site - the usual 'get' link doesn't work for any apps or watchfaces.

Is this a problem with the site, my browser (latest Vanadium) or some other protection implemented in a new GOS update?

I tried the same link on DuckDuckGo's mobile browser - this lead to an error message, but no download. The message was: 'Unable to open this type of link'.

Thanks for any help offered, it's been very frustrating to abruptly have this functionality stop without clear cause.

Pebellion hey there. You can try enabling Javascript JIT for that website in Vanadium. To do so tap on the settings icon located in the URL bar.

If that doesn't help I recommend seeing if the issue persists in Brave browser. Afaik DDG uses system web view component so on GOS it's basically Vanadium

Thanks for your help - I tried both ideas, sadly neither worked. I then tried a phone with a different OS - a fairphone with e/os/ - but this also didn't work, and gave the same error message.

I wonder if the problem is with the site itself - bad timing what with the new Pebbles due out in July. I read that a relaunched pebble app would be coming soon though, so hopefully that will help restore functionality ⌚
