Hello,

i recently found out about Aegis USB-Stick from Apricorn, which is encrypted. And I wanted to know, if this would be the most secure option to make Backups on Android? Since it even has Encryption, Pin and much more, when one looks up in the Description. Or is there a more secure approach for a GrapheneOS User?

Here the USB-Stick:

I use them and they work just fine with GrapheneOS.
I have used the 8GB 3NX and 3NXc.
They have the advantage that when connected to a Linux PC you can LUKS encrypt them as well as use the pin code. Obviously once LUKS encrypted they can't be used on GrapheneOS.
Also you can use a self destruct pin code to factory re set them to protect the contents.
I store stuff on them and just ignore cloud or other storage as I have no idea where on earth they may be located.
I love me the fact I know exactly where my USB sticks are, 24/7

I’d rather use istroage devices because they have chip off protection by this I mean they cost their devices in Epoxy so nobody can remove the chips to recover the content and they also have a duress PIN code for their newer devices which will wipe the data if it gets in to the wrong hands and the duress code is entered. I’ve looked in the brand you mentioned before and decided to gin with istorage and it’s been reliable

I have Istorage (datashur pro2) from about two eyears and is works nice in GOS.

I use only for backups (recovery codes, example I export my Bitwarden Vault unencrypted directly to the usb ).

If I remember corectly , to setup Apricorn you can use a software for your computer, and with Istorage the all setup is doing with the buttton keys , no software option ,everythink is isolate from internet.

Unfortunately you remember incorrectly, you need no software at all to set up the USB stick. Once you input the unlock code, its a USB stick, use it as you wish.
