A few minutes ago I opened the pixel camera app on my pixel 8, the software is up to date and I was using a secondary user with sand-boxed play services installed. The thing is that after closing the camera app, the microphone was still being used (realized by the green dot on the right-up corner), and suddenly the camera started to work also, a few seconds after the camera stopped being used but the the microphone didn't, went to settings to see last mic access of all my apps and it said it was stop being used when I closed the app, any other app was using it, plus the green dot was telling me that it was the camera. then I tried disabling the mic access and obviously it worked, but when I turned it back on, it was being used again by pixel camera.
In the end I rebooted the system to solve it and it got fixed, not sure if I tried something else, I think I also disabled mic access to the app on settings and it was still being used. I think It was most likely a bug, did it happened to somebody else? Do you think it was a bug? I don't think it was a malware since everything is sand-boxed and I don't give network permission to the camera app.
Something weird happened, mic was working when pixel camera closed. Bug?
I observed the same behavior on a couple occasions on my Pixel 7 since the Mar update. I'm now on the 2025030900 Alpha and am keeping an eye out to see if it recurres.
Same thing just happened but with whatsapp, in fact if I enable the microphone it will tell me that it's being used by the app. It is totally bugged and it fixes by rebooting the phone.

Same, also odd behavior with microphone. Didn't drill down the details, but noticed green dot on when it was not supposed to be. Sort off startled me. P8, on 2025030800. Anyone know if this has been fixed for 2025030900 ? About to install it.
I tried to recreate this: I started a recording with the Google Voice Recorder and while it was recording, I denied it mic access through the global toggle. Result: green dot gets stuck and tells me that Recorder is using the microphone, even when the app is force closed. Only fixed by a reboot.
This is very likely a display/indicator bug and many other community members, me included, are able to observe similar behavior since the QPR2 update.
This is still going on for me, when I use whatsapp or telegram with the microphone, it stays on, indicated by a green light on the top right.
