maricn Have you found a solution for p6p?
It seems as if there multiple problems in play. The topic of this thread was a fixable firmware glitch on Pixel 9 devices that was not present on Pixel 6, 7, or 8 devices, and which I believe has been resolved for Pixel 9 devices.
Meanwhile, on every device type, some small fraction of fingerprint sensors fail. When that happens the primary solution is replacing the fingerprint sensor. In theory it would be possible to add a setting that would permanently disable the fingerprint service, but the work to do that, and test the solution, and maintain it over time, would be non-trivial, so it's not very likely that the GrapheneOS project will ship code that does that. The project does provide build instructions, so that interested parties can experiment with personal changes to the OS.
There is some chance that the issue is related to software or configuration. To pursue that, the steps would probably be:
- Back up all data, then "factory reset" GrapheneOS; if that doesn't work, then...
- Back up all data, then flash the device back to Google's stock OS; if that doesn't work, then...
- Replace the fingerprint sensor.
