I'm encountering an issue where a specific app (X) does not adopt the system language set on my GrapheneOS device. My system language is set to Dutch, but the app continues to display in English. I've tried to change the language in-app, restarting the device and clearing the app's cache, but the problem persists.

The app's support page mentions that it should follow the system-wide language settings, but this doesn't seem to be working in my case. I am not able to set a specific language for the app individually either.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Satoichi Did you by any chance install X from outside of the Play Store? I just tested this by installing X from Play Store and then from Aurora. When installed from the Play Store, when changing the language in-app to Dutch, X uses the Play Store to download additional language packs. When trying the same with the version installed from Aurora, it just displays an error when attempting to change the language.

It's not uncommon for apps to download additional files from Play Store upon the user requesting a settings change or activating a feature. This is mainly to reduce the initial download size of the app.
Edit: I believe that is called Play Feature Delivery: https://developer.android.com/guide/playcore/feature-delivery
If the app doesn't bundle the language, I don't think you can get around having to install it from the Play Store.

      Forget about X /s

fid02 thnx fid02. And indeed, I installed X with Aurora. i don"t have GPS installed and would rather keep it that way.

Is it a possibility to install X through GPS on another account, install Dutch language and remove the complete account after installing?

Satoichi Apps are installed "globally" by the system package manager and are shared across profiles (except for the app data, which are stored within invidiual user profiles). I don't know if Play Feature Delivery assets are also shared across profiles. My guess is that they are not, but perhaps you can try?

fid02 The Answer is: yes that works. I removed the temporary account where I installed GPS and X in Dutch and then removed the user-account again.
Now let's see what happens when X receives updates in the future....
