  • Question About Recommended Devices

Hi everyone, I was reading through the FAQ and looking at the recommended devices (not for me but for someone else) and I noticed that the 7a is still what is considered the best value when looking to install GrapheneOS.

I have a 7a with GrapheneOS on it and I love it but I've noticed that the 8 and 8a are usually on sale for pretty cheap, like in the $399-499 dollar price range. The 8th generation Pixel devices will be supported for a minimum of 7 years as opposed to the 7a which will only get 5 and suffers from pretty lackluster battery performance. In May the 7a will be 2 years old so I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks the best value Pixel is right now.

chance assuming this is you're price range, I would go for the 8a due to it being supported for 7 years and also the enhanced security elements such as memory tagging

    I don't like mobile phones, I really don't.
But I have to use one, so my best value phone is the cheapest I can get my hands on that is not EOL and runs GrapheneOS. Its a secondhand 6a from 2022, good enough to 2027.
