I just received my iPhone 13 last week. Which I like better doesn't matter cause you should configure every of your devices to be secure as much as possible whether or not it's GrapheneOS. I do like gos more because Apple is privileged on iOS while no third party personal data collector has privilege on gos. Apple makes many useful config only applicable to supervised iPhone because Apple doesn't want to give normal consumers more control on their own phone. Apple makes quitting Siri and iCloud very difficult and gives first party apps and system privileged access to diagnostic data and personalized ads. iPhone is not more private than stock Pixel. Apple is not inherently more private than Google. iPhone is more secure than other Android phones for sure because of complete monthly patches, secure element, verified boot and a few other things.

AlanZ yes and they also say that it is second solid choice after GrapheneOS which also means they are not equal. Also iOS consistenly exhibits more critical vulnerabilities compared to recommended Pixels (especially when they run GrapheneOS). Having such development team on your side, with their unprecedently swift actions to mitigating vulnerabilities is an advantage.

If you wish privacy, ditch the iPhone, it is the best tracker phone on the market, even when it is power down, it still broadcast to the nearest iPhone with details, location etc back to Apple.

iOS and GrapheneOS are more or less equivalent, both are very good in terms of security and privacy, grapheneos is highly recommended for high threat models, iOS is highly recommended for the Apple ecosystem... I would like to add that no evidence shows that open source is more secure. It's up to everyone to make their choice according to their threat model.

Locart No, iOS is not privacy. Apple apps and iOS gather your data for advertising and diagnostics purposes etc while GOS never do that. GOS is also more secure than iOS because of features like MTE, 2FA unlock etc. iPhone are vulnerable to AFU forensic extraction while GOS are not.

Android System SafetyCore, like Apple SECAM, now reports back to Google with your data, according to various articles. The question is why GOS went to such lengths to hide or mask the app deep within the system under the pretence of Safety, if it is safe, why not give the owner the option to uninstall the Google app. Why did GOS give a false statement about Android System SafetyCore?

Upstate1618 3/4 of your answer is wrong. Only the AppStore ios application has an advertising purpose and again... it's just to highlight applications. Other Apple applications have no ads. The MTE is not a security function you misunderstood, it is a memory marker that will send you a beug report in case of a problem. He won't prevent the problem. There is an equivalent on iPhone whose name I no longer remember and which will allow Apple to send you an automatic message if your device is targeted by mercenary software. In addition, MTE is not linked to GrapheneOS but to was implemented by Google. Finally, the iPhone is not vulnerable to a forensic extraction in AFU mode if the lockdown mode is activated.
