Update from my above post: I'm looking for an app that will automatically connect my home wifi when I approach or enter my house, however, the app mentioned above @Malakai was worth a try. Doesn't work, sadly. GOS seems to be very secure in this regard.

edit: unless I have the app and task configured improperly!

brookie229 you don't need an app for that. In Settings search for Wi-Fi Preferences > Turn on Wi-Fi automatically and enable it.

That has never worked. The bullet on /off is there but it doesn't work and as far as I'm aware, it never has.

brookie229 also make sure in Settings > Network and Internet > Internet
Go to settings of your Wi-Fi home network and enable Autoconect while you are connected to it.

If that doesn't work, I don't know what will. I used it but now I like to keep more manual approach and I connect to my home Wi-Fi at will when I need it.

All settings are ok on both my device and modem. I have 2 other android devices running stock and they pickup my home wifi as soon as I get in my driveway. I've had my 6a on GOS since new and it has never connected automatically. Reason for me wanting that function is that it's using up all my data when I forget to connect to wifi. And I forget ALOT!

Anyway, thanks for trying. I was hopeful that app would do it but I was skeptical. Pretty sure we have talked about this issue before in a older thread and at that time Graphene considered this function a security risk and disallowed it.

How about leaving Wi-Fi on all the time? Unless somebody spoofs one of your known SSIDs it shouldn't be a big risk, nor a big battery drain.

The wifi will not stay on all the time. When I'm far enough away from my home network the wifi toggle automatically switches to the off position.

You've got it! That setting I totally forgot about OR was an addon with some OS update that I didn't catch. Thanks for that - I've got it set to never now.
