Pixel phones issue with calling 911

I saw an article here today about pixel phones apparently having issues calling 911.
In cases of an emergency this seems to be a bit concerning. I was about to buy a pixel 6 pro and put GrapheneOS on it, but this has caused hesitation. I'm wondering if this issue is isolated to Android OS pixel phones or do GrapheneOS pixel phones have the same issue? Can anyone confirm that 911 in cases of emergency will work with GrapheneOS pixel phones? I appreciate any thoughts on the subject.

Yes, I can confirm this issue. It's very scary. I was able to test it in Switzerland with the Swiss police number "117" and a Pixel 6a with the latest GrapheneOS. When you dial the number, the dialing screen immediately disappears. That Pixel 6a had a normal SIM + eSIM (not sure whether this is related to the issue).

I was also able to test it with a Pixel 4a running the latest GrapheneOS and there "117" works fine. That one only had a normal SIM.

I could imagine that a local fixed net police number should work as a workaround. Some police stations seem to offer that.

77tom It appears to be an ASOP issue as I read multiple reports about this issue on reddit. I also can confirm the issue:
I had to dial 911 yesterday on P7P and it failed.

Open the dialer
Dial 911
Press "Call"
The dialer closes

I had to resort to calling local police number which I had stored in my contacts.

I think the phone actually dials 911 and then immediately crashes causing connection to end, but the attempt does register with 911 as I received a text messages few minutes later from 911 operator asking if everything was ok. About 20-30 min later I also received a phone call from 911 operator confirming that no help needed.

I'd say 911 does not work as intended on Pixel 7 Pro, at least it does not on mine
