Curve pay configuration

Took some while but I finally got it to "work" (everything shows up fine but haven't tried actual payment at a store though). What worked for me is to set it up on the owner profile but I can't put my finger on it why it isn't working in a different profile. Why would that be? I set up google play services and permissions the same way, tried both with and without VPN, NFC is on for both. Are there some other system wide settings/permissions or something that the owner profile has and could mess with it?

I set it up today on pixel 9. It works I already made a payment. The tricky part was enabling NFC without installing play services on owner profile. I found a package manager called 'App manager' on F-Droid, launched settings app through it and I actually had all settings available under secondary profile - please don't patch this.

pampur Yes. On pixel 9 with latest graphene build the curve pay app works but requires google play services. The issue is under secondary profiles you can't access NFC section in system settings as those are exclusive to owner profile along with some others.

This creates a situation where it is possible to make it work but only installed under owner along with google play services which is something I wanted to avoid.

The workaround I found was opening settings app under secondary profile not just by launching the settings app but through a package manager called 'App manager' I found of F-Droid. When launched through the package manager, you can access all system settings under secondary profile and can enable NFC and select which wallet it pulls from.

Let me know which step are you struggling with there may be something I glossed over.

AFFx64 I'm struggling to find NFC settings. There are too many tabs and options. I found with NFC only one entry, but there can't change anything.

pampur from the root settings list, go for second row from the top - connected devices, inside that look at - connection preferences near the bottom. There should be NFC tab second from the top.

On my Pixel9pro I was able to setup Curve and contactless payments in a secondary profile.
I paid contactless for 2 days without problem, then Curve somehow blocked the main virtual card 'for security reason' without further details. It could be some SafetyNet trigger on their side, I don't have more details, I'm waiting for their support to get back to me.

I managed to set up Curve Pay on my Pixel 9a and use contactless payments without any problems. Let's see how it goes.

Good luck! I've been messaging them since June when I received an 'account has been blocked' mail. 11 messages and nothing but automated responses. Payments and Tap & Pay setup no longer work.

I don't get the impression it's anything to do with GOS as the actual payment experience worked just fine prior.

For those using Curve Wallet, from where do you prefer to get/install the app? Do you use the official Play Store, download an APK from another trusted site, use Obtainium, or any other method? Please share your experience and if certain sources work better for you! Danke!!!

I've just installed CurvePay and setup an account on my Pixel 8 Pro. I managed to make a contactless payment sucesfully first time.

The only thing I noticed was I had to hold the phone over the terminal, Curve would then prompt me to scan my fingerprint (even with Curve Pay unlocked), after doing that when I held my phone over the terminal again the payment went though ok.

For anyone who has used this for a while, do you have to scan your fingerprint every time with Curve?

If its of help to anyone attemting to get Curve working, my permissions / settings are as follows:

CurvePay: Network, Notifications and Sensors

Sandbox Google Play Services: Network and Sensors (I never gave it the phone permission and disabled the Curve notification that kept bugging me about this)

Connection Prefrences > NFC > On
Require device unlock for NFC = Off (I'll change this to be on now I know Curve works)
Default Wallet App = Curve Pay

InsaneNutter For anyone who has used this for a while, do you have to scan your fingerprint every time with Curve?

I have to open the Curve app using my fingerprint to make contactless payments, so yes.

My permissions : Network and notification for Curve Pay and Sandboxed Google Play. Require device unlock for NFC = On.

the fingerprint problem has something to do with exploit protection on GrapheneOS. If you turn on the compatibility mode in the settings for Curve, you won't need additional verification for nfc payments.

Xtreix What did you do to get it to work on Graphene?
On a fresh install on my 9 Pro XL I'm not able to setup curve.
I've turned NFC on, I've set Curve Pay as the default wallet, I've turned on the compatibility mode for curve, I've installed sandboxed google services and play store (where I downloaded curve from).
I've even gone as far as to add a new card to curve, since it's been years since I last used it.

Still, when I go to the app to "Set Curve Pay as default wallet", it fails after the first step (verifying cards) when it is "Securing your information".

I can see my card in the wallet app, but payments do not work, and intermittently the wallet app will say "Something went wrong".

Scrawny7236 I don't know why there are sometimes such differences between users/devices when it comes to setting up Curve. I set it up quite easily and it works without the compatibility mode. The only a bit scary thing I had to do was send them a selfie and a photo of my ID to unlock the maximum monthly amount.

Is it a Curve card or a card from another bank ? Personally, I imported my debit card and my virtual card from my usual bank to Curve.

I don't know how to reproduce it anymore, but I remember a configuration wizard when I started the application and everything worked. Did you select Curve Pay in Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > NFC > Contactless payments ?

Something that worked for me was following the steps mentioned above with permissions and setting curve as default payment, BUT also under launchpad -> account I re-issued a new card by clicking on replace card. I think my curve card was expired (or something else not sure) as I've had my account for a few years but didnt use it for a long time.
I was then able to setup curve as the default wallet, right after re-issuing a new card.

Paccap Created an account just to say that, in my case, an expired curve card was indeed the reason for "Set Curve Pay as default wallet" failing with "Something went wrong". Cheers!
